The vast majority of French-language academic works on Rwanda focuses on the genocide and the historical, memory, judicial, and diplomatic issues linked to it. English-language studies on Rwanda over the last fifteen years, however, have ceased to focus solely on mass violence and transitional justice, with the country becoming an almost essential case study in analyses of state-building and development in Africa.
