Political cloths showing the colors and symbols of political parties are ubiquitous in Malawian public space, during elections, as well as in daily life. They continue to circulate after political events and penetrate the domestic sphere. This paper suggests that the various uses of political cloths by party elites, party supporters, and ordinary citizens highlight the fabric of the party, as well as the conditions of participation of working class women in politics.
